How to apply

Each contestant will submit an application signed by teacher and parent/guardian. Each applicant will be notified of the audition and will perform for a panel of judges. Up to three finalists will be chosen to perform. Finalists may receive a modest monetary honorarium. The decision of the judges is final. The performance date with the orchestra is Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 7:30 pm at the Upper St. Clair High School Theater.

Repertoire
Instrumentalists should perform from memory either the first movement of any standard concerto OR both the second and third movements OR a standard piece from solo literature that can be performed with orchestral accompaniment. Vocalists are required to perform from memory two contrasting songs or arias from different stylist periods. 
ALL APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN ACCOMPANISTS.

Eligibility
Pianists or instrumentalists up through their senior year in high school and vocalists through age 21 are eligible. Applicants must live within a 50 mile radius of Pittsburgh.  Prior winners are not eligible to compete.
